Charles Henry Mercer
From a young age, Charles Mercer was fascinated by photography. There was something magical about pressing the shutter and stopping time. Born in Zimbabwe he came to Cape Town and has been here, in this photogenic space, for many years
Charles has had a varied life, being trained in graphic design, running a small startup in advertising, and working in a larger corporate setting. He also established a place of renewal for destitute people in an inner city area of Cape Town, which led to his love for portraiture and street photography.
He has taught photography and life skills for over two decades.
