#16  Hout Bay in the evening can be a magical place and even a leapard or two can be spotted.

#20  A farmroad near Ladismith, Western Cape

#19 Westcoast Nature Reserve. Flowers and a resting place

#14 I was fascinated by the fork in the sandy road, and the way the two trees seemed to be communicating with each other. One was the sentry, the black tree guarding over the simple homestead.

#21 The view over Soetwater Beach, South Africa

#15 The day turned out to be full of promise when the storm clouds began to gather around the iconic Table Mountain, coming through the valley from the Atlantic Seaboard. It was still early and the lights from Bo-Kaap were still on. V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa.

#21 The Slangkop Lighthouse in a nature reserve near Kommetje, South Africa

#1  Minimalism in seascapes offers a lovely sense of peace. This is Jeffreys Bay in the Cape, South Africa.

#2  Fish Hoek Beach was transformed that morning proving that "light is everything".

#3 This is an iconic view of Table Mountain, taken from Blouberg Beach at sunset. The light from the sun as it sets appears to be pushing through into the colder blues.

#4 Canola Fields bring the hope of heaven on earth. They lift the heart and give hope.

#5 The farms at the base of the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa are often cold and sometimes covered with a blanket of snow in the winter.

#6 The Daylebrook Tidal Pool near Kalk Bay in Cape Town is a very special place. Early each morning, before the sun has risen, many of the local inhabitants come down to the pool to swim. They have all become friends and this is the wonderful start to their day.

#7 This is the view in the early morning looking from Muizenberg Beach towards Strandfontein.

#8  That morning on Muizenberg Beach, the sun tried hard to come up. Instead, through all its efforts, it managed to produce a colour and tone that was other-worldly, and transported me to new places in my mind.

#9  The freezing cold river early one morning in the Drakensberg Mountains, South Africa.

#10  This image was taken by on a road trip to Jeffreys Bay in the Cape, South Africa. The search for the right light can be an elusive one, but when it comes, it is always beyond belief and adds inspiration and wonder at what an amazing planet we live on.

#11   Early one morning, looking down from the steep cliffs at Cape Point, South Africa, the sea seemed to hold a special relationship to the sand, cleaning it and smoothing it out like an artist. No one would tread this beach as it was inaccessible, left to itself and without the danger of the human need to change it.

#12  The Atlantic Coast in Cape Town is often the place for surfers to congregate as the waves sometimes reach heights that are well known for their force. This image was taken in gale-force winds on Llandudno Beach, a famous landmark for sun-worshippers.
